Why your digital product will never sell
Reading time: 3 minutes
Harsh truth?
No one really cares about your digital product.
And it's not because it sucks.
It’s because right now…
it’s about you — not them.
You’re out here saying
“I built this Notion template to organize my life, track my goals, and stay accountable every day.”
Cool, I guess.
Like—genuinely, that’s awesome for you.
But most people aren’t out here looking for that.
They’re not waking up thinking,
“Man, I hope someone sells me their productivity system today.”
They’re thinking:
“I’m overwhelmed. My to-do list is a mess. I have zero time, and my brain’s on fire.”
So when they see your product, they’re not asking
“How much time did you spend building this?”
They’re asking
“Can this help me right now?”
That’s the game.
People don’t pay for your process.
They pay for the transformation.
They pay to skip the pain.
They pay for speed, for clarity, for answers.
If your product doesn’t scream that in the first three seconds…
they’re gone.
Want to fix that?
Here are 3 rules that help nearly every digital product sell better:
1. Clarity over creativity
Stop trying to sound clever.
Say what it is, say who it’s for, say what it does.
No riddles. No galaxy-brain metaphors.
2. Sell the outcome, not the effort
Don’t pitch me your 10-module course.
Pitch what happens after I take it.
What does my life look like after I finish?
3. Make it feel like a shortcut
The internet is full of content.
What people want are cheats, skips, and hacks that work.
If your offer saves me time, you win.
You might already have a solid product.
But if it’s not converting?
Chances are it’s not the content.
It’s how you’re selling the result.
Tweak that.
Try again.
Then watch what happens.
